A CAMPUS VISIT

Prospective students and their families are urged to visit the campus, where they are always welcomed by students and faculty. Only by a personal visit to the campus can you begin to experience the dedication, enthusiasm and sense of purpose that pervades the College.

Whenever possible, visitors to the campus should notify the admission office in advance of their visit so that a campus tour can be scheduled.

Sherman College provides one night accommodation for out-of-state visitors. Contact the admission office at 800-849-8771, ext. 1221 to schedule your appointment and reservation.

STUDENT SERVICES

The student services office provides prospective students with all sorts of information about student life at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic and the Spartanburg area.

As a prospective student, you are probably interested in the community. Spartanburg is one of the fastest growing areas of the country - the Southeast. We have all of the amenities of major metropolitan areas just a short drive away, yet we have the serenity of the small-town South. Within 30 minutes you can be hiking in the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the infamous Myrtle Beach is only four hours away. For the sports lovers, the Atlanta Braves, Charlotte Hornets, and Carolina Panthers are all close by. As a matter of fact, the Carolina Panther’s training camp is right here in Spartanburg!

Currently Spartanburg County has around 250,000 residents and the unemployment rate is usually around 3%. We have four very distinctive seasons, with the average temperature between 64-68 degrees. We have six colleges including Sherman College in Spartanburg, lots of locally-owned and nationally-known restaurants, and plenty of shopping centers.

I am sure you are also concerned about housing opportunities in this area. We do not have on-campus housing, however, we do have a Housing List and a Roommate Exchange that can help you with your living arrangements. Most of our students live with other Sherman students, however, some do chose to live alone or are married. The student services office keeps an updated list of all current students and incoming students that are available for rent. Depending on where you live and if you have a roommate, you can expect to pay from $235 - and up for rent.

The student service office also plans all of the student activities. Each quarter, we try to plan some sort of social activities such as an all school picnic, white water rafting, hiking, dances, movie nights, etc. We also have informative assemblies and after school workshops and programs.

Your college experience is one of the most thrilling yet demanding times of your life. We at Sherman College want to make sure you get the most out of your education but we also want you to have a good time and enjoy yourself while you are here with us. If you have any questions or need anything, please call our office anytime. Our number is 800-849-8771, ext. 1224. I hope to hear from you soon!
